Meet Jonathan Wolfson. He is the CEO of Solazyme and the father to two young girls. Mr. Wolfson finds that essentially, his business and family worlds collide; running a business is much like raising a family. Communication, interpersonal skills and level-headed thinking are important traits for anyone in business; however, they are even more important for a father. These are some of the most constant parts in Mr. Wolfson’s world, whether it’s at home or at work. I decided to focus on Mr. Wolfson because of his attention to detail and vast amounts of experience in the business world.
Mr. Wolfson is the subject of my first project of my senior year here at Freestyle-- the profile project. This project is our equivalent of a senior thesis. It is a long project (we started in junior year!) with lots of moving pieces. My English, Design, and Web/Audio classes all had their own individual assignments, but all were woven together with a common thread. Despite the daunting size of this assignment, I am proud of the work I was able to produce. Like all projects at Freestyle, this was an extremely rewarding experience. I believe I learned a lot about both myself and working with others during the span of this project. I was able to practice my writing skills, design techniques, and various computer programs (such as Dreamweaver and After Effects) all while in an academic setting, something unique to Freestyle. I am confident that the lessons I learned and the connections I made will carry on with me through my senior year and beyond.
A short commercial I produced using various techniques in After Effects to introduce the project.
