Losing Battle: A Junior Narrative Diptych by Devan Tormey (2012)

My story is about a man who is addicted to Vicodin. One day he loses his pills and becomes lost himself. He is forced to detox alone, and sits alone on the floor as his skin burns and he has to face up to the decisions of his past. In the end it seems that without help he may die. The first picture represents the feeling of being lost as a ship beached on land would be lost. The second picture represents the feeling of detox. It is said that it feels like your skin is burning off your body.
