Ticonderoga's Revenge: A Junior Narrative Diptych by Jack Marquez (2012)

This diptych tells a tragic tale of jealousy, anger, and broken pencils. The first image of the diptych portrays a stubby little pencil who feels left out and inadequate, fuming outside the exclusive pencil cup and in the shadow of his taller, sharper peers. Then, out of anger, frustration, and jealousy, the small pencil turns on those above him, leaving destruction in his wake. Now the coveted cup is his, but among the carnage of his actions, he finds himself more alone than ever before.
