The Grind: A Junior Narrative Illustration by Andrew Thomas (2012)

My Illustration tells the story of a man who feels like he is wasting his life working at a minimum wage job. He is frustrated because he spends all of his time working and he does not ever feel like he makes any progress in his life. The illustration is a boot crushing a spider while it reaches for a fly. The boot represents a corporation enforcing wage slavery and the spider represents the hard working minimum wage employee. The fly is the goal the man spider is trying to achieve while he is pinned down by the boot. The typography shows the mans frustrations and insecurities about the life he feels he is forced to live.
