Andante Expressivo: A Junior Experimental Project by Ryan Rosh (2013)

This is the Design Art for the Experimental Project in Freestyle. As you can tell, it is quite Experimental. The Experimental Project is the fourth and final project of my Junior year at Freestyle. This work is supposed to portray (in a fun way), how childish and immature I feel when I listen to or play music. To create such a magnificent piece of art, first I needed an Experimental amount of real artistic skill (check). Second, I would need to have it connect back to my goal of showing how childish and immature I tend to act or feel when getting into music I really enjoy. I took the staff from a Brazilian flamenco song. I used a photo of me as a child with a very large lollipop in hand, and I basically put my childful head on every note to show how they make me feel. I put a filter on the picture of younger me, to make the colorful lollipop much more vibrant, to bring out my little head which is all over the staff, on top of the notes.
