Ribbon: A Junior Self-Portrait Illustration by Isabella Kuhn (2013)

In my essay I talk a lot about how I am the type of person who is very easygoing and flexible. A metaphor for this is a ribbon. Ribbons are used to tie things together and decoration. In my film, I talk about how I feel tangled. Just like I also see words all tangled and disorderly because I am dyslexic.

The ribbon symbolizes that I am an easygoing person. The curves and turns of the ribbon shows that I am willing to compromise with others. It also shows that I can be easily manipulated, which can be good and bad in different situations. Ribbons can also be tied into knots. Just like I can tie my personal beliefs, morals, and opinions into a knot and be unbroken.
