Mug Lyfe: A Senior Narrative Book Jacket by Annamari Jaaksi (2014)

The goal for this piece was to create a book jacket for my Narrative project. Since my story is more of a kids story, I wanted to make a fun but simple design. I used Adobe InDesign to create a book cover that was as realistic as possible. It included a fake barcode, reviews from fake people as well as little side flaps that held a summary of the book as well as a bio of the author. The process of creating the book jacket was surprisingly difficult, because figuring out interesting graphics that didn't overwhelm the small cover was hard. However, I'm sure knowing at least the basics of book jacket design will be useful in the future. In addition, the project was really fun even when things got difficult!
