Happy Accidents: A Senior Narrative Book Jacket by Kaye Yap (2014)

The title of my book is called Happy Accidents. In my book, the main character, Max, vlogs his whole day through a camera. To incorporate a film feel for the cover, I decided to draw out a film strip going across the back cover to the front cover. The film strip signifies that Max is really into film and that the plot of the book would be based around what he loves doing. I used Adobe Illustrator to create my entire book cover, as well as Adobe Photoshop for my auto-biography photo. I was able to experiment a lot with different shapes and designs for this project that I really enjoyed. I loved incorporating real-life aspects of books, such as the barcodes, quotes from other profound authors, and the price, to my book cover. It really made it look a legit book that I would actually want to read! Overall, I love how this turned out and is a project that I am proud of.
