Sharp Corner: A Senior Surreal Photo by Hope Moseley (2014)

The Golden Gate Bridge is falling off a sharp corner, crumbling into pieces that are turning into fall leaves. I morphed these two objects by creating a black vector mask and then applying my own paint brush to allow free control over the pieces breaking apart. I took five photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, using different apertures, and merged them together in Photoshop to create an HDR photo. I then applied an effect over the bridge to emphasize the richness of the red. To create a box like feel I wrapped a photo of the ocean over a box and then placed a blue filter, with a low opacity, to allow the analogous color scheme to stand.

In the book of Revelations it states, ''Begin! Pour out the seven bowls of God's wrath on earth...the fourth Angel poured his bowl on the sun: Fire blazed from the sun and scorched men and women...the seventh Angel poured his bowl into air...lightning flashes and a colossal earthquake...the cities of the nation toppled to ruin.'' I chose to base my surrealism piece off of this quote from the Bible basically saying that the whole world will crumble by natural disasters. I chose to use an split complementary color scheme, blue, red-orange, and yellow-orange, because this scheme is often found in nature.
