In the Overhead Lights: A Senior Amplified Art Project by Anastasia Garachtchenko (2015)

To create this piece I scanned in some fine art images I drew and manipulated them in photoshop along with some photographs and digital drawings. I included my Zentangles and mandala to create a visual representation of the quickwrite I created in English. My quickwrite centered around the idea of flies trapped in the ceiling lights, so I wanted to contrast the beauty of the stained glass looking lights, with the horror of death and decay.

Two years ago I didn't know who I wanted to be, but with the help of Freestyle, I will now be attending Maryland Institute College of Art to major in Illustration with a concentration on Animation and a minor in Creative Writing. Through my Web Design, Design and English classes, I have realized what types of art I love enough to pursue as a career, and which I would rather keep as a hobby. Because of Freestyle I know who I am.
