Unititled: A Senior Narrative Book Jacket by Jacqueline Conn (2017)

This assignment was more difficult than I originally thought it would be. I am not sure if that is due to all the other work we have been doing in our other classes, but this definitely did feel like a rather challenging project. However, it did help me grow as an artist. This project helped me grow as an artist in more ways than just one. I taught me more of trusting my artistic eye in the sense that it pushed me to create something original that connected to a piece I wrote. A lot of people were taking pictures and editing them for their book jacket, but I thought that would be a little too easy. So instead of using images, I made my own design/drawing that I used on my front cover of my book. This really helped me by forcing me to come up with an idea and manage to put that idea onto paper in a way that I was happy with and was okay with sharing with a lot of people.

Overall, I am pretty happy with my final project. I know that I took time to come up with an idea and execute it and, though it did not come out the way I had originally planned it to, I still like what I have created. I still do wish that I could have changed it and maybe have spent more time putting in more detail into it. This would have made me very proud of the project from the beginning, but that isn’t what happened.
