For our last unit in English, we studied different humor techniques through reading Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut and researching two comedians of our choice. Then in a group, we created our own humor project, choosing between options like a skit, video, comic, stand up act, etc. I worked in a group with AutumnJ, RyeD, and SofiaD and we created a sketch about social anxiety during a presentation. We were primarily inspired by awkward and absurd humor, like the videos created by the youtube channel Wizards with Guns. We used a variety of humor techniques, like caricatures, dramatic irony, situational irony, satire, hyperboles, blunders, blue humor, and slapstick humor.
