About Me

My name is Adriana, and I would consider myself to be someone who you need to get to know first before I open up to you. I am very introverted and quiet when around people I don’t know, yet bubbly and chatty when I’m around the people I’m closest to. My family and I are Mexican and speak both English and Spanish at home. I’ve been told that I am filled with ideas, but that I tend to hold myself back from sharing them at times due to my shyness. I am artistic, creative, and someone who thinks outside of the box often. My favorite food is pasta and pretty much any kind of noodles, and I have a dog named Buddy.

Some of my main core values are honesty, loyalty, and enjoyment. Honesty is very important to me since I see it as one of the key things that holds relationships together. I tend to overthink things at times and honesty reassures me that everything will be okay in the end. When it comes to loyalty, I tend to follow the golden rule of treating others the way I want to be treated. I value loyalty to my friends and family and will always be there for them. Finally, enjoyment is always finding a way to balance school life and home life. I find it important to find time to just relax and enjoy the quality time that life has to offer.

I am currently passionate about art and music. I love to draw in my free time and often find myself doodling on assignments in class, drawing after school and weekends, and more. I’ve also been in many school musicals and have done choir for a few years now. I’d aspire to have a job in the future that holds some sort of creative value within it. I’d love to one day become an art therapist since it combines my interest of art and helping others into one.

The moment I stepped foot on LAHS my freshman year and found out that Freestyle existed, I immediately asked my counciler if I could apply when its my junior year. I was amazed at the idea that I could go to school to learn how to animate, work with advanced technology, and more! To my surprise she told me probably not and didn’t elaborate much. This sort of bummed me out but I also didn’t take a language class that year. Being in AVID required me to take at least 3 years of a language class rather than the usually 2 years. So what did I do? I immediately jumped into Spanish 3 Honors for Spanish Speakers my sophomore year to finish my language credits and make room on my schedule for Freestyle the following year. Since you’re reading this, that means it worked and was possibly the best decision I could have made in my highschool career so far!
