Welcome to my website made for the Narrative Unit here at Freestyle.
Here, you will find all my work created in all of our classes for our Narrative Unit. The purpose of this unit is to see how capable we are of telling a story. In English, we created a short story narrative which became the basis of our following projects in Design and Web Audio. In Design, we created an Illustration and a Narrative photo based on our short story narrative’s message. The narrative photo was assigned to us to see if we could convey a story through a couple of pictures. In Web Audio, we created an Animatic and an Animation using Adobe Flash. After watching several online tutorials created for us by Mr. Florendo, we created an animatic and an animation based off of our short story narrative made in English. The animatic was made by taking scans of our short story narrative, which was turned into a graphic novel, and adding audio to the scenes accordingly. Our animation was created by making pieces for our animation in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, transferring our work into Adobe Flash, and recreating our story and adding actual movement to our story.
Looking at this unit as a whole, I feel like I learned a lot. In web audio, we became very familiar with Adobe Flash. The tutorials basically showed us all the tools available to us in flash and how to use them. Almost everything in Adobe Flash was covered, from creating motion tweens for our symbols to creating nested movie clips for repeating actions such as blinking. We also learned a lot more in Adobe Dreamweaver, like how to use one image instead of several images for our buttons. This unit allowed us to become a bit more efficient when creating a new website and will help us for our future websites.
