This is Danielle Cohen. She is an incredibly multi-talented individual and a very busy woman. As a mother of three, a part-time software engineer, a competetive athlete, and a 10-year member of the Campbell Union School District School Board, Danielle has not come across many obstacles in life that she was unable to overcome.

In this Profile project, I interviewed Danielle and a few people that know her so I could create a magazine article, website, commercial, and presentation about her life and so I could describe why she is important to the community. In English and Design, I was asked to create a magazine article about my Profilee. I researched related issues and wrote the text of the article in English, using interviews to enhance the writing with direct quotes. In design, I created the layout for the article. I used repetetive design elements and a color scheme that are intended to reflect my Star Interviewee's personality. I also used these design elements on this website, and in the presentation that I gave to my teachers and peers about the project. The color scheme is inteded to be professional and direct, with a bold pink that emphasizes how Danielle is assertive and can't be ignored. We also discussed the fact that many of the lessons she learns and the things she teaches her children don't show themselves until much later, and I used the visual metaphor of overlapping circles to show that those lessons eventually come full circle and that they have combined to make Danielle the incredible person she is today.

As a summary of what I have learned throughout this project, I created a presentation about my Profilee and about my own growth, and I presented it to my teachers and peers. I used the same design elements in my presentation as I used in my magazine article and my website, and implemented text, photo, and slide transitions for more visual appeal. I memorized what I was going to say (although I had reminders on flashcards as I presented), and described to the audience why Danielle Cohen is important to the community and what I have learned from the Profile Project. I also made sure to integrate direct quotes from Danielle and the two secondary interviews that I conducted, and included pieces of the magazine article that I wrote in English. Overall, I am very proud of my presentation and the way I represented Danielle.
