I feel like a lot of what earth represents is life. The best way I can see to show that, is through a flower. Flowers seem like the embodiment of life to me. In places like Connecticut, They usually show up in the spring, right after the silence of winter pass. Flowers blooming through the snow show that things are going to grow again, and it always feels like a new life.
