The ultimate goal of this unit was to create a music video, containing a completely original song. Fortunately, this was not an individual effort, but rather, a group endeavor. I had been anticipating the start of the music video unit since the first day of school, and was eager to find out who was in my group. I was part of Group 2, along with film students Alex Paulsen and Daniela Chavez-Preciado.

After a few group meetings where we had shared videos and songs that we liked, we decided on what we wanted our own song to sound like. We wanted our song to be an acoustic song that sounded like the music of Jack Johnson and John Mayer. We also decided on a band name: Plastic Fork Riot.

As the only Web-Audio student in the group, I was in charge of using the audio recording programs and equipment necessary to record our song. I also had the role of mixing and editing the recording sessions into our final song. During this unit, I learned so much more about the music programs that we had only been exposed to a little bit in Web-Audio, and I learned so much about how to record in the studio. Working with a group was a bit difficult because we all had to figure out times to meet that would work for all of us, but ultimately, things came together in the end and worked out well.
