Macro Photo Final
When we began this assignment, it was assigned with the intent that we gained more practice with our macro lenses. s a class, we took our cameras and ventured off into the surrounding neighborhood to take pictures of various objects or things we found beauty in capturing in through a macro lense. I was unaware of the outcome of my photos until I saw them when creating my contact sheet using Adobe Photoshop. I was quite impressed by the amount of detail captured by the lenses in simple objects. Using adobe Photoshop, we then edited the photos in a certain way that would reflect a instagram filter.

Reflection
Overall from this macro assignment, I was able to understand the amount of work that go into our day to day instagram filters. The simple usage of a filter is able to be accomplished from the amount of various effects and techniques used the creators. I also grew my understanding of the importance of macro lenses especially to capture details in simple photos.
Pastel Final
This project was assigned to us with the intent to develop our skills with blending. We used pastels which are an easier medium to use due to their amount of powdered pigment. As a reference of a design to replicate, we used on our of macro photos we took from our previous assignment.
Reflection
As expressed in previous art assignments where we had to use a different art medium to emphasis blending, I have not succeeded too well. Therefore, this assignment was a bit hard for me. I found myself faced with two different consistent obstacles; the saturation of the colors wasn’t enough or the blending wasn’t well. While it took a lot of time, effort, and red covered hands, I was able to finally complete my piece that while it isn’t the most beautiful form of blending, it does have it. That was enough for me to be able to blend.
Public Service Announcement
The PSA assignment was to create a piece that reflected our personal essay. We had to narrow our essay down into a sentence and work off of that as the main guideline for our piece. In my case, my sentence was
“Don’t let others define you.”
I chose this sentence because at the time, my personal essay was revolved around the message of how I was able to overcome various obstacles all at once to be myself. I felt that in the situation I was in, each obstacle had it’s own power in holding me back to being a certain individual that it needed. I feel like that message was pretty much represented in the PSA as there are multiple individuals or “obstacles” attempting to hold back someone trying to escape. They are trying to hold back more of the “colorful” or inner part of who the individual is than the actual individual.
Process
My process consisted of me using Adobe Illustrator to design multiple individuals pulling on ropes that are connected to another attempting to run away. I tried to use brighter different colors to my advantage to create the difference between the individuals from not only one another yet from the individual they are attempting to pull.
