We were challenged to write a perspective video in this unit.
This was extremely difficult for me. As someone who in general has no problems with the world around me, it was really hard to think of anything to rant about.
Until we got to the Lyrical Essay unit, a unit where we were required to write from a second person perspective of a person of choice to interview.
I interviewed my mother, a 47-year-old immigrant from Korea who came with only $200 to her name. Hearing her story enraged me, enraged at people who I once thought were my family, aunties, uncles. It enraged me so much that I decided to use it as an essay in my perspective video.
