Reflections:

When returning to Freestyle in the fall, we were tasked with learning new concepts and furthering our knowledge in Adobe After Effects. Since the overall unit was about “Who we are”, we were forced to find out more about the individual and discover who we are as people.  For me personally, I found this a difficult task as I am currently applying to college and am trying to stay on top of my academics.  To be frank, I don’t know know who I am. It’s an ongoing battle in which I learn new things everyday.

Museum Curation:

During our Final Visit at the San Francisco Moma, we were tasked with recreating a Museum Curation. We were tasked with designing our gallery filled with art regarding what we saw at the Moma. In class, we used these pieces to create our own gallery. I  picked out 3 piece of art that represented me, followed by 3 art pieces that didn’t represent me.  The 3 pieces I thought represented me best were; Alexander the Great by Kehindle Wiley, The Window by Rufino Tamayo, and A.R. Pencil X-Face Man 1. Each of these pieces stood were out to me because each held some symbolic meaning to it.

3 pieces of art that did represent me:

  1. Alexander the Great (oil canvas) by Kehinde Wiley

~This art piece represents me because it portrays a proud man showing off his confidence. From last year to this coming one, I have worked on gaining confidence in what I do because prior I wasn’t confident at all. The overall painting was visually appealing and had a great color contrast.

  1. The Window by Rufino Tamayo

~I believe that this piece represents me because of the mild colors shown in the art. The color scheme is mild which translates to my personality mostly in part by that I am not talkative and passive. The setting is also fitting due to the fact I like the night.

  1. A. R. Pencil X-Face Man 1

~ I feel this piece represents me because it represents me due to the simplicity of the sculpture. The figure appears to have a good healthy stance favoring he is in good health which is something I firmly believe in.

Pieces that did not represent me:

  1. DNA: Seasons (Pattern)

~I feel like this Pattern was very generic and expresses little to no personality. I view myself passive but not dry of personality.

  1. White Painting by Robert Rauschenberg

~Right off the bat I can tell that this painting is completely emotionless. It literally just a white painting.

Conclusion: Over at the SF MOMA, I learned that art can be used to express one’s thoughts, feelings and emotions. I also discovered an art piece has multiple meanings, and could at times portray no meaning whatsoever. The paints that did stand out were paintings that did not have any meaning, while artwork that did served as a purpose.

Mandala:

Following our visit to the Sf Moma , we were tasked with creating our own Mandala from a Adobe Illustrator File. After learning the few basic steps with setting up our document, we were off with creating our own Mandalas. My Mandala that I created was off creating my own. Upon finishing, we were tasked with adding some color and finally taking a picture with it to save for our websites. With said, here is my Mandala Curation Below:

Personal Essay:

Our Personal Essay was about an issue that we found worthy to write about. I found my topic was about ranting about the Cross-Country Team. The overall process of recording and was easy but writing and editing was a grueling process. But once I got the hang of it, the projects itself turned out to be easier than I thought.

Design:

During Design following our return to freestyle, we were tasked with an project called the “Marco Photo Project.” We as a class went on walk through the neighborhood taking pictures. I took a picture of a flower and then applied a red gradient and a image blur on the side.

Macro Final:

After making the final touches to our Macro Final, we were next tasked with the making our own pastel drawing of something abstract. Although mine may look literal, I tried my best to fit it to not look as close to my photo I took.

Pastel:

At the time during English we were give the task of writing an essay based off of an issue we have experienced in our lives. The theme I choose was based off of community and development. In my PSA, below this is what I created based off of my topic.
