clarieandme this is the recording of my essay

Sometimes I act like a child, and sometimes I act like an adult.
I was put to a test with this thought in mind. At least once in everybody’s life they are put through this test. They ask themselves, “When should I be a child, and when should I act like an adult?” Some people’s definition of an inner child is being a kid, having no responsibilities, just goofing off. My definition of an inner child is being who you are with out caring what people think, for some people that means acting childish, and for some it means just not being serious all the time. There are times when someone should act like who they are, or childish, and a time when someone should act like an adult.
Your inner child will help you learn when the time is right.
There have been many times where I had to make the decision to act like a child, or be an adult. Everyday I have been put to this test. Knowing when to be childish or yourself, or when to be an adult is something that everybody must learn. Just being at school makes this challenging. Every time you walk into a class, it’s like you have to be someone your not. You don’t get to be your crazy, out going self. You have to sit in a chair, listen to the teachers talk, and basically do whatever they say. If I was to be myself, which is not a person to sit and be quiet, I would get in to trouble. As soon as the day was over, I could be myself; I could do whatever I please; I could let my inner child out to play.
Sometimes your inner child will get you into trouble.
Two years ago, I had some friends. They were really nice, sometimes we didn’t get along though. They were the kind of people who were all about school, never wanted to have fun, always serious. I was into school and doing well also, but there is a time for work and a time for playing. When I would try to be myself they would make fun of me, and tell me that I need to calm down. Most of the time I would just listen and thought that I needed to change who I was. I remember this one day that I could never forget. They told me that I was crazy, I had too much energy, I need to put my inner child in jail, and I needed to change. I went home that day thinking, how can I be more like them? Should I change who I was? Where was there inner child? I laid on my bed thinking about inner children, and why I should change myself.
I love my inner child and nothing they say or do can change who I am.
The next day I went to school and I told them, “I’m sorry that you have a problem with me being the person I am. I can’t change myself to be more like you guys, that’s not who I am. I’m not going to give in to being something I’m not. I’m proud of who I am and nothing you can do can change that.” When I said that they didn’t know how to respond, the looked at me like deer in head lights. I just walked away.
Nothing would tear me and my inner child apart.
I never thought I would find friends who were like me, or liked me for me. I went to gymnastics practice and made friends with people who had they same feelings like me. They weren’t afraid to let their inner child out and be who they are. We had the best times, and had a lot of laughs. During school people just sat around and talked at lunch, we decided to make it fun. We would do handstands, cartwheels, or just spin in circles. It was the best time.
Everybody has an inner child, it just depends on if you know how to let go.
As I think back to these moments, I was glad I made that decision to be who I am. I think if I would have changed who I was I would not be where I am today. I am my own person; I’m not like everyone else. I let my inner child run free when it is the right moment in time. Not everyday I can be crazy, and full of energy. Sometimes I have to buckle down and get my work done. Everyone has an inner child; everyone has to be an adult. But knowing when you can be a child, and when you can be an adult is the hard part. It just takes time to learn when you need to be yourself, and when you need to buckle down and work. Letting your inner child out and being yourself is what takes people a while to learn. If you always worry about what people think they your not going to be yourself.
An inner child can help you be yourself.
