LISTENER LYRIC
During this unit, we read Citizen by Claudia Rankine, a series of lyrical poems/essays that address societal prejudices and experiences through the second person; “you”. This method is utilized to form a connection between the reader and narrator. For our personal lyrical essays, we were to interview an individual, and express their experiences through a format that resembles Rankine’s work.
I wrote this by interviewing an anonymous person. I don’t think I can do their experiences justice, but I tried my best.
