My name is Daphne Heatherly. I am 16 years old and a student at Mountain View High School and a film student at Freestyle Academy. I am the second youngest of 4, and one of my siblings is a Freestyle alum. In my free time, I play flag football and lacrosse, and I listen to a lot of music, specifically from Faye Webster and Tyler Childers. I love country music and going to concerts, and just this summer I went to 6 country concerts. In the future, I hope to become a forensic pathologist because I’m really passionate about true crime. However, my family wants me to be an attorney because they say I’m good at negotiating. If I had to pick three words to describe myself, I would say I am inviting, caring, and dedicated. I spend a lot of time with my family, and my sister is one of my best friends.

Some of my core values are honesty, laughter, and forgiveness. I love being with people with a fun sense of humor and being able to fill my day with laughter. I also value being honest but also forgiving, because it’s easier to forgive someone for being truthful than it is to forgive a lie. Currently, I am passionate about flag football and looking forward to more opportunities to play in college. I am also passionate about cars, and will go to any car show I can find. Additionally, I am invested in a lot of music. I play the piano and the harmonica, and this is my third year in choir. I also recently have gotten into producing my own backtracks and playing the guitar. I also spend a lot of my time doing graphic design, as I am the social media manager of some of the sports teams for MVHS athletics. Furthermore, I love spending time outside, specifically going on hikes or finding cool lookout spots, one of my favorites is Point Lobos in Carmel.
I chose to become a Freestyle student because I was excited about making my own films. The idea of writing up a story and having the equipment to make something that looks really good and that I’m proud of was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.
