Welcome to my Documentary page. Around 2nd week of March was the time that we started the documentary project. The documentary project is about taking a real life subject to document about and how write them truthfully For a while I do not know the subject for my project until Mr. Greco suggest to make a profile of my grandpa. Since I am in the design class, I was asked to create a book as the medium.
I value the experience of making a book during this unit. I do not have any other class that have a unit where the student have the ability to create a physical book. I also value this experience because I got to know my grandpa better than before and now I know the past experience of my grandpa.

The Process of making the Documentary Book
First I interview different people who are relate to the subject and do some research regarding the documentary subject. Then I took some photo of my interviewee in different location like in the backyard and the market. Some of the different photo is display in the Photo gallery selection. At last, I put everything together in the Indesign app. Here is some of behind the scene screenshot:

Interviewee Bios
George Li
This person is named George Li. George is my grandpa and is also the main interview subject for the documentary book. He was able to overcome hardship in the past and achieve what he wanted when he travel to America.
Henry Li
This person toward the right is named Henry Li. Henry is my father and the son of George. My father was able to provide additional perspective on George’s Story and gave me a better picture of my grandpa’s past.
Louisa Huang
This person toward the right is named Louisa Huang. She is Geroge’s wife and also my grandma. She was by George’s side longer than my dad, so she have the better picture of George as a person and his personality.
