Hi, I’m El, though that name is subject to change at some point. I am a student at MVHS and Freestyle Academy in the animation elective. I like to do art in my free time, though I am kind of lacking in the freetime department at the moment so I don’t really do much art for myself right now. I also like to create characters, though many of them only have designs and no story. I also enjoy theater and acting, though I have yet to be in a show at mvhs(I have done crew for a few).
My experiences as a queer person and an artist have helped shape my core values of open–mindedness, non-conformity, acceptance, creativity, and curiosity. I probably have others as well, but these ones are some that I can put a name to. Being curious about the world around me is helpful to my creativity as an artist, and non-conformity helps me stand out. Acceptance and open mindedness are important aspects of being curious about the world and the people in it, and are important to me as a queer person.
In life, I am currently passionate about many things, like fandom and fictional characters. I also am passionate about my own characters and those that I have created with friends. I want to be able to create a story that connects with at least one person, like so many stories have done for me. I will be honest, my passion for a lot of things has faded away at this point, as school has been the only thing I can really focus on, but I hope to regain that passion in the near future.
I chose to become a Freestyle student because I enjoy creating, and I heard that Freestyle was very creativity and art focused. I wanted to learn new skills, like animating and digital art, as I am mostly a traditional artist. I also wanted to join Freestyle, because I would be around fellow creatives in a way that I don’t get to too often at MVHS.
