Pro Tools & Reason

For this project we were asked to combine two music making/editing software that we had learned previously to make a song. There were 4 options we could choose from; 90+ sec music or film score, Elective specific music(Film,Animation,Design), produce music for at least 3 short movie or TV scenes of your choice, and finally Make a written proposal to Mr. Florendo if you wanted to do something different from the other 3 options. I created the 90+ music or film score.

Multi-Layered Project

The purpose of the project is to is to collaborate with others to produce multi-layered 2D digital art with Illustrator and then assembling the 2D art pieces into a 3D Art Project to create depth in your art. Just like the Pro Tools & Reason project we had 3 options to choose from; Light Box, Wood Art, and Wood Ring Concept Art. My partner Aiya and I chose to make the light box, our overarching theme of the project was Vapor-wave.

Reflection

Our inspiration for this project was Vapor-wave, to give a little background “Vaporwave is a microgenre of electronic music that emerged in the early 2010s as an Internet meme. The style is defined by its borrowing of 1980s and 1990s mood music styles such as smooth jazz, elevator music, and R&B”. I valued working with someone else because it helped strengthen my skills since I was able to ask for help and work together with someone. I had previously never done a project like this so it was a fun and interesting learning experience that came with many challenges. We had to figure out what kind of design would work best for this type of 3D art which caused us to draw and then redraw some aspects of the project. Another challenge that we had run into was formatting the layers correctly so that the laser printer would cut the paper how we designed it. Overall I really valued this project and would love to do this again.
