For this project, I profiled Suzie DeUnger. I was interested in her position on whether or not high school community service should be mandatory. Her input was greatly valued because of the years of experience with volunteer work. |

I designed this magazine article in Adobe InDesign. It represents the artistic view of the essay. The essay was written in English class and then stylized in Design.
I obtained interview audio clips from Suzie, but also recorded portions of my essay that emphasize the overarching theme: that mandating community service for high schoolers is absolutely worth it. After editing the final audio track, I used AfterEffects to create interesting visuals. This included kinetic typography as well as several quotes designed in Photoshop. The primary applications were ProTools and AfterEffects. Suzie DeUnger is focused on encouraging youth participation in community service. She is an adviser to the MVHS LEO Club, and believes that, if required, volunteering results as a positive reflection in a person's life. Media Feature
