In Photoshop I combined multiple images by clipping ballerinas into a scene of passionate paint. I wanted to create a landscape from the paint by enlarging it and making it the foreground of the ballerinas. I also ensured contrast by allowing the absolute background to be a light beige and a matt finish to highlight the paint further and to allow the ballerinas to shine.
I needed to encapsulate the airiness of the main character in my world-building project, which is a fairy. She lives in a world of magic and is a dynamic character meant to help the greater good. Thus the ballerinas represent her attempts amongst the chaos, which is symbolized by the paint.
I found it to be quite fun learning how to merge multiple images together with the new tools I learned in photoshop. I think forming a vision like this when it comes to fantasy allows others to understand your perception.
After collaborating with other members in my class we decided on a fairytale store. We wanted a heroine that defended her kingdom at all costs to restore peace between elves and fairies. It’s an inspiring story about self discovery and courage to fight for whats right.
The process of curating the story was fun, we definitely downsized the project multiple times because we knew it was too much information for a pitch.
In order to prepare for our world building project we each prepared for a research topic. Mine was about cocaine since fairy dust in our story acted similarly to it.

Funny Images
In digital media to get more practice with photoshop we learned how to cut and take from certain images to make one In order to make one image. The goal for this project was to make something funny with 2 or more images so I used my friends to make a giant monster and small ant darian’s climbing up a tree.
Motion Graphics
After freshening up on photoshop, it was time to get more experience with after effects. This meant learning how to keyframe and animate objects in after effects to make more engaging videos.
Above all what I learned from all these editing exercises is that it’s not always easy to animate things in after effects. It’s also often very time consuming and difficult to do rotobrushing, very cool, also kind of hard.

Multi-Layered Project
For the multi-layer project I wanted to do something related to my zenith, which is a story about a boy reaching the stars. So I began to sketch the beginning of the little boy’s journey on a boat across a rocky ocean. I wanted to do the rings instead of the other options because I really liked the wood and how it looked like a theatrical scene.

…and ta-da! After all that hard work I was able to create this multi-layered ring art, named Star Boy.
Film
For film students, senior narrative is one of the most biggest time consuming and stressful projects of the year. In fact, this project took about 8 months to complete. It is an absolute beast of an adventure for any film lover. It was a process from start to finish of pitching, script writing, going through various revisions, failing over and over, recruiting actors, figuring out all of the sets, editing everything, finding all the music, and learning along the way. It takes an army to make a film happen and I’m very proud to say I made some great friends along the way because of that.
When reflecting back on my experience, it was extremely eye opening. Seeing how to form a team, spending hours together, and giving your all to a film teaches tenacity and hard work. It wasn’t easy, it took a disgusting amount of pre planning and extreme obsession to make it happen. I have no regrets with this film and I think it turned out the best it could. I’m so proud of myself and my team, and look forward to what we’ll all end up accomplishing in our respective futures.
