Welcome to my Showcase Website. My name is Ethan James and I’m a senior at Freestyle Academy. Over the past two years I have learned different programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. The focus for my showcase is design so the two projects I have chosen are my documentary magazine article from Junior year and my narrative movie poster from senior year. I feel these projects are two of my best that I’ve had the chance to create at Freestyle.

My documentary topic was about my grandmother’s life in Foreign Service. Through interviewing her and her friend I learned a lot about her time traveling in Europe and the Middle East. Creating the magazine article for this documentary was a lengthy process that was extremely rewarding. I used InDesign for the layout of the magazine and Photoshop and Illustrator to edit the photos and create different design elements.

 

 

Narrative Movie Poster:

For the narrative movie poster assignment we were to create a movie poster for a short story that we had written in English class. My story was about a high school football player who had to make a decision about where he wanted to play college football. To create my movie poster I used a photo of a person holding a football and edited the photo in Photoshop to create a dramatic look. I also created a lace design to go below the title in Illustrator.
