INTRO

For our last project, we were given the freedom to choose anything we wanted to

explore any aspect of life we wanted of personal interest to us and create an experimentalproject to express something about it. The only catch was to incoorperate something we learned this year. We could use paint, photography, weaving, anything. As long as we used something from the year that we learned in some class, whether it be photoshop, illustrator etc. I chose to explore the process of argument that a couple who is romantically involved goes through. Thus,I decidedto call this project romantic process. I wanted this project to be as raw and show as much reality as possible, so i chose photography as my medium. I photographed my friends AJ and Iris as a couple and showed them in a panoramic photogrpah that showed multiples of them as they progressed through an argument.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I’m interested in exploring communication in romantic relationships.  In my experience, peoples’ feelings cause them to say things they don’t mean during an argument.  My piece is a panoramic of two people processing through an argument and will illustrate the feelings they vocalize as the argumentprocesses. I chose black and white for the photographs to make them as raw and realistic as possible.  I chose my two friends Iris and AJ for the photo because the chemistry they have together when showing certain feelings is easy to see, especially in photographs.  It is my intention that my photograph makes people reflect upon their own relationships.
