Narrative Visual Perspective in Film

This is by far the biggest unit in Film during the two years at Freestyle. We started working on our pitches in mid October and we work no-stop on the film until its due in mid February. We started the project by brainstorming ideas and making pitches and loglines. A logline is a one sentence description of a movie that is meant to get a listener’s attention quickly. After we pitched our films, the class split up into partners and we started working on a synopsis for the film. Before we got around to working on a screenplay, we did acting scenes to practice filming and editing dialogue.

After getting a synopsis done, we wrote a screenplay following all of the formatting rules.

We made a shot list from the screenplay to plan our filming days. I did this by going through the script and writing what will happen on the screen.
