Welcome to my page! My name is Kajsa Hoffer and I am a senior at Freestyle Academy. Throughout my two years here, I’ve compiled a portfolio of projects in my English, Digital Media, and Animation classes. This will mainly focus on the latter, as that is what I’m most interested in pursuing.
Zenith / Worldbuilding Project
I had a lot of fun working on this project. I think my technical skills improved a lot over the course of the month we spent working on it. Especially water – I first had no idea how to work with it, but I think I got the hang of it!
What I wanted to focus on throughout was making a more consistent style or theme. Before, my work always had the problem that nothing looked like it came from the same video, or same shot. Whether it were the colours, the lighting, etc. I think that even though there is a lot of diversity between shots, they are still cohesive and you can tell which parts belong together.
In the future, I want to get better at composition. I feel like my animations are lacking something in the storyboarding phase. Either they are confusing or boring, and I should work on following, say, the rule of thirds. And I would also like to improve my storytelling skills. I know that wasn’t my intention behind this project, but I feel like it needs more solid substance. Without background knowledge on the story, it’s difficult to tell what it’s about.
Project Reel
This reel features a couple of my favourite projects I’ve worked on: my 3d character animation cycles, and my motion graphics animation. You can tell I really like animation. I can’t say I’m very experienced with 3d, but I am still very happy with how the cycles turned out.
