Conceptual

Introduction

For the conceptual Project, Juniors develop their abstract thinking and communication skills to answer the question,

“How can I use unconventional forms to express myself?”

These projects show how I was given the freedom to take risks in creating pieces of different art forms. We were challenged to experiment expressing our ideals, and opinions through a personalized aesthetic. We started the process of creation by being taught how to navigate and use several professional development platforms, as well as DSLR cameras. I value these classes as a creative outlet experiment, take risks, and learn new ways to express my creative side.

introduce the haiku project- what did you do?

Haiku

This is A haiku poem we were prompted to create in english. We were given an artist statement that included a Emotion, and an action. My statement was “I am exploring passion, through getting lost.” This haiku was created based on that statement.

Behind the scenes

Here is an image taken after completing the editing in an app called Premier Pro. You can see all the layers of Text, images, music, and narration in the application to create the final product.

Not only was the haiku project a new way for me to express and create a deep meaningful poem, It also taught me many new skills. Many of which were, taking photos, learning to use Premier Pro, Audio editing, and more! Although it was a tough process, I learned many new and important skills.

“Why Art?” Essay

This project was an opinion based essay that prompted us to research and read articles that promoted authors ideas on why art mattered. We were given a list of articles to chose from with varying themes and ideals about the history of art. After reading many articles I settled on an article called “Art never Dies” written by jazz musician and author, Sonny Rollins. We were then told to connect the opinion of the author to 3 artworks by an artist of our choice, I chose the well known Pablo Picasso. These two artists helped me to formulate an opinion about “Why Does Art Matter?”
