Introduction

In English class, we learned essential fiction writing techniques, like “show, not tell,” through collaborative activities and unconventional prompts. We read the well know novel “1984” to understand narratives and language in political contexts. we also explored many new skills in digital media. such as learning how to do graphic design and music production, and learning design principles using Adobe Illustrator and iPad Pros. It was a hands-on journey that helped me express my creativity across different mediums.

Story

We were prompted to write a fictional narrative short story in our English class at Freestyle Academy. I was inspired by a song by one of my favorite singers, and tried to model my story after this song.

We used several different softwares to bring this story to life. One of which was Adobe Audition where I recorded and produced to audio, SFX, and other small details to make this story feel more alive.

We also were prompted create cover art so we could release our stories onto sound cloud. I decided to create a simple but deep piece of art for my cover. After listening to the story it is clear why I chose this visual for my cover.

We were prompted to get into groups of 3 or four and each individually create an image but align them so when we were finished they would all make on large creature.

Parody Song (Featuring Ella Clifford)

We were given the assignment to recreate a popular song you and your partner liked. We chose a song, rewrote lyrics, recorded vocals, and produced to get the final result featured above. (With a silly twist.)

Design

Narrative Creature

We were given the task to creature one creature using 5 different body parts of different animals. Each from a different category of animal, mammal, insect, bird, etc. I chose to mash together a turtle, whale, ladybug, kangaroo and chicken. The image above is the final result of my Narrative Creature Project.

Our next project was the Narrative Photo assignment. We were told to take the short story we wrote in english and bring it to life with photography. Model (Jon Khazam) Above is my finished artwork.
