About Me

I’m Kristin Iimura and I’m a junior design student at Freestyle going to MVHS. I really enjoy a lot of art mediums like drawing, painting, and digital art. I got my love for art from my older cousin. I don’t have any siblings and so I really look up to her. I’ve also been taking art classes at school for the past 5 years, mediums including architecture, drawing, and commercial art. I also play club volleyball and this is going to be my 4th year playing club volleyball. I have a dog and his name is Axel, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, he turned 6 in September.

Some of my core values are Creativity, Passion, Forgiveness, Accountability, and Respect. I think everyone should be creative in their life from time to time. I also think people should do things that they are passionate about and put time into what they want to do. I also think forgiveness, accountability, and respect are important because it helps strengthen and create bonds with people in your community.

I’m currently passionate about creating art and playing volleyball. I have also started to take up creative writing and make stories of my own because I really enjoy reading books and want to create characters and develop their story and make scenes that I come up with.

I became a Freestyle student because I wanted to try out more art mediums, broaden my horizons, and meet new people. Even before coming to high school I knew that I wanted to do Freestyle. My cousin who is 5 years older than me did Freestyle and talked highly of the program, so when I entered high school I couldn’t wait to do Freestyle. I also want to do graphic design and potentially UI or UX in the future and I believe that Freestyle could help me get there.
