Introduction
In the explorations project, we asked ourselves “How can you identify, explore, and/or grow your passion?” All Junior Freestyle students investigated their own passions while improving a specific skill set that relates to 21st Century Skills for the Explorations Project.
Film
For my elective explorations project, I decided to focus on comedy, specifically sketch comedy. I chose this particular topic because I have loved watching sketch comedies and always wanted to try it out for myself to see what I am capable of creating. 21st Century Skills I am improving upon are Technological & Visual Literacy, Self Direction, and Risk Taking.
Something I valued from the Explorations Project was the freedom to choose any kind of skill I wanted to explore and master at. As a digital artist, I benefited by learning different ways a camera is positioned for different crafts, as well as learning what makes something funny. I had never filmed a Comedy Film before so it helped me understand what went into making one.
Digital Media – Music
My inspiration and objective for the experimental music I created in Digital Media was to illustrate the chaos of emotions that overflow people when they look back at the chapters of their life.
I really enjoyed my experience in producing an Experimental Music piece because of the unlimited access to varieties of instruments that allows me to create what I envisioned.
