Hello! My name if Liehn Youn and I am a design student at Freestyle Academy in the class of 2027. I have an older sister and a pet parrot named Dipper. Originally, I was born in Korea, and I moved to the US in 2014. I love to cook and watch TV with my family; my favorite movie is Django Unchained and my favorite show is Monk.
My core values are creativity, growth, and joy. Playing flute helps me to express my creativity and to practice my skills, while always challenging me to improve. Additionally, I love to work with and to encourage kids, especially in art camps and programs. Working with them teaches me patience and compassion, and I hope that I can help make their days more fun. I enjoy thinking of new crafts to engage and entertain the kids, and I especially love to play games of any kind with them.
I am not the best drawer, but I have a passion for creating crafts and toys. One of my favorite projects I have made is a jellyfish lantern. I am beginning to learn more about philosophy and theology, and I love philosophical dilemmas (my current fixation is Omela’s Dilemma). My dream is to go to a music concert in the near future, and some of my favorite music artists are Kali Uchis, IV of Spades, and bLAck pARty.
I chose to come to Freestyle because I missed doing design after a two-year hiatus, and I was intrigued by the Adobe programs that Freestyle uses. I saw it as the chance to reconnect with my creative side, explore new techniques, and challenge myself with tools I hadn’t used before. This program gives me the opportunity to develop my personal style, experiment with different mediums, and build the confidence to share my work with others.
