Who Am I?
My name is Lulu Bregman, and I am 16 years old from Bay Area California. Im a student at Los Altos High School, and Freestyle Academy. I take my core classes at Los Altos and am enrolled in English, Digital Media, and Film at Freestyle. In the film program, I learn to create all different types of films, and understand how to operate the behind the scenes. Such as operating a camera, and how to edit films that I create.
My Core Values
Imagination is at the heart of how I see and shape the world, it allows me to dream big, explore new ideas, and approach life with creativity. Alongside it, I value integrity, staying true to my principles even when it’s hard. Growth matters to me deeply, I believe in constantly evolving, learning from experience, and pushing myself forward. I strive to lead with compassion, treating others with empathy and care. And through it all, resilience keeps me grounded, helping me face challenges, adapt, and keep going. These values guide my choices, shape my mindset, and reflect who I’m becoming.
What am I Passionate about?
I’m someone who thrives on creativity and self-expression. Whether it’s through fashion, film, or hands-on projects, I find joy in anything that allows me to explore who I am and share that with the world. One of my favorite ways to spend my free time is sewing, taking a piece of fabric and turning it into something new is not just a hobby for me, it’s a way to bring ideas to life. I love creating things from scratch, whether that’s a garment, a visual concept, or a community initiative. Giving back to my community is also something I care deeply about. I believe that there’s more to life than just our individual experiences, and being part of something that supports others gives me a real sense of purpose. I especially enjoy working on projects that bring people together and create a positive impact. One of the initiatives I’m most proud of is Sip and Swap, an organization I co-founded. It’s a community-based clothing swap where women come together to exchange gently used clothes they no longer need, items that might otherwise end up in landfills. Not only does this promote sustainability and reduce waste, but it also builds a strong sense of community. We collect donations at each event, which go directly to local women’s shelters, along with any unclaimed clothing. It’s been amazing to see how something as simple as sharing clothes can spark conversations, connections, and support for important causes. Outside of all that, I genuinely cherish spending time with my family, friends, and of course, my dog. The people (and pets) in my life are a huge part of who I am, and I find so much inspiration and support in those relationships. Altogether, these passions and connections help shape my values, fuel my creativity, and keep me grounded in what really matters.
Why am I a Freestyle Student?
I became a Freestyle Student, because as I’ve said, I’m all about creativity and thinking outside the box. I love how I get to learn all sorts of life skills and editing practices, that without this program I wouldn’t have that opportunity. I like how the classes are more than just paper and pens, and challenge my mind. Freestyle, lets students access all sorts of technology and resources that an average school routine would not entail.
