Over the summer of 2018, I took a fashion design program at the Cornell summer college. In the program we completed projects such as making a portfolio in adobe illustrator, as well as creating concept boards and fashion sketches. We also participated in a design challenge.
In the design challenge, students were assigned to use a tyvec suit and recyclable material such as newspaper, magazines, duct tape, and trash bags to complete a head to toe look in 24 hours. These pieces then were to be held in a runway show to the general public.
We completed assignments that builded upon one another, using trends predicted in WGSN to create a mini capsule collection. My theme was modern, color-blocking formal wear. This began with the assignment to compose a concept board.
