Introducing Ms. Nock

This is the website that I created for my Profile Project. At Freestyle Academy, we were posed with the challenge of documenting a profile star. I chose the Mountain View High School Photography teacher because she is a significant member of the community.She single handedly creates an environment in which creativity is to be fostered. She is a teacher, of photography, and of expressoin. She teaches students how to express themselves. She exchanges knowledge, through art, about how to look within one's self and extract emotion. She then allows the exchange between emotion and creativity to occur through a medium, called art. Reasearch has been been discovered connecting more full brain function with creativity. The more exposure to creativity one gets, the more innovative and wholesome a person will become. In the schooling system, art classes are particularly necessary for full development of intellectual thought. This reason alone makes Nock the crucial binding link between full potential and student.

Magazine

This magazine was quite the endeavor. A process to which I committed many hours. I designed this project to reflect the personality as well as the occupation of Lori Nock, which ultimately go hand in hand. The quirky and wonderful nature of Ms. Nock is what makes her creative class so special. The students are enveloped into a world of art, full of loud in your face messages, and deep, not so obvious, under the surface meanings. Digging into your emotional base as a person is not easy, but once students learn to look within themselves they become more intelligent, empathetic, beings. I wanted this magazine to reflect that creativity with bright colors and creative thematic images. I created all of these images with Adobe Illustrator. Reflecting upon this piece I am proud that I conveyed my subject in a positive light. I am proud that I was able to learn multiple skills and diversify my ability to be a wholesome creator. Through the use of adobe products to create a masterpiece, I great significantly as an artist. This magazine accurately portrays the significant contribution of a highly valued community member. This was my aim and it is what I completed. I value the fact that Freestyle has pushed me to expand my creativity through applied projects such as this. This was a challenge but I thorougly enjoyed it, and I am glad that I was able to grow intellectually, and in my ability to creatively problem solve

Presentation

English and Design came together quite seamlessly in this project. The Essay that I wrote for English was implemented into the magazine I designed in design. This was significant because it helped me better understand how it feels to be an independent creator of media. Beacuse of Freestyle, I could create and print my own line of magazines. There are so many real world applications to that which we have learned to apply in english and design. My future has been bettered because of my knowledge of design elements and adobe softwares. I now know how to code with dreamweaver and create material for the internet. I have been diversified and expanded. Thanks.
