An animatic is a short, basic animation that provides a plan for a larger or more ambitious animation. It provides a good picture of planned camera and character movements for the real animation. It features a few quickly drawn sketches and basic sound effects to help better show what the final product of an animation will be. They're important because they ultimately help decide what your plan will be for an animation and what kinds of camera angles, actions, etc. will and will not work. They're important because they map out an animation's full plan, like storyboarding a film

I tried a new style of drawing for the graphic novel/animatic, which I thought was OK but not great. I think I could have done a little better on the overall story, as it is a little confusing. I enjoyed creating the animatic more than the graphic novel because once you got the hang of toon boom studio, creating the animatic became extremely quick and easy. I had a lot more trouble deciding on what to do with the graphic novel than I did with learning and using toon boom studio. Overall, I had a pretty positive experience and I really enjoyed learning some basic animation (even if I'm not the best at it).
