About Me

Who Am I?

My name is Sara Francisco and I’m a Christian artist, animator and songwriter. I have been a creative since I was created, and enjoy making many forms of art, including digital and traditional illustrations, animations, writing stories, and writing music. My favorite thing in the world is worship, which combines so many of my favorite things–Jesus, art, music, and oftentimes friends too. Some of my other favorite things in life include guitar, sunsets, stars, stickers, and the silly children (characters) that I create.

Core Values

Some of my biggest values in life include faith, forgiveness, and honesty. My faith is the center of my life and keeps my head and heart in a good place. Jesus has been my foundation since I put my faith in Him and I believe faith can benefit everyone. Forgiveness has been a great emphasis in my life because as I have been forgiven, I want to forgive others; it takes a weight off of my shoulders to forgive. Honesty is also very important to me because I believe transparency is always part of a loving and healthy relationship.

Passions

My biggest passion is sharing my faith as a Christian. Aside from that, I’m passionate about creating beautiful art! I love playing guitar and writing songs about God, and creating stories using writing and art of my characters. My main story that I am passionate about is Kunzikan, a story about a war between five islands in an alternate dimension, each island with their own cultures and motivations, and two teenaged critters trying to stop the war and bring peace. I hope to someday create my story into a full comic book, or to release my music and touch somebody with it.

Why Did I Choose Freestyle?

I am at Freestyle because as I like to say, “school is so unserious.” The academic pressure at MVHS and in the Bay Area is a lot for a lot of people, and I believe that you can be successful without piling seven AP classes, seven Honors classes, fifteen extracurriculars, and seventy electives on yourself. I want to have fun with school, and that means choosing classes that I like, like Animation or Digital Media. While I may not choose Animation or Digital Media as a career in life, I will surely take with me the values and lessons that I learn here, like boldness, commitment, and more practical skills as well.
