About Moi

Hi, I guess you already knew this but I’m Sean Li. I was an animation Senior at Freestyle in the year 2019-2020, in the hopes that I’d become an animator one day. Animation allows us to connect with many different people with our emotions and our skills. I wanted to bring that connection to many parts of the world, so animations can reach us like they have me. I hope Freestyle will improve my skills, and that’s a sure success because projects are more plentiful than the air we breathe. I valued my time here as it built the foundation that I grew from; constantly adding more to my knowledge and my repertoire. This experience was one in a lifetime; irreplaceable. I met so many amazing people, so many talented students, so many dedicated teachers, it’s something that’s stuck with me and I firmly believe this will impact me forever.

As with everything, there have been pitfalls and bright sides. I’ve had great opportunities of success and great recesses of mistakes and failures. But with Freestyle you don’t really fail from these mistakes. You’re surrounded by a caring environment that prioritizes progress, improvement, and skill building over grades and it’s reflected in the teachers and curriculum. I learned so many new skills and met so many incredible people at Freestyle that I couldn’t have learned at my regular school. It’s such a different experience and it’s really a delight to have been part of such an amazing program. The things I learned and the fun I had cannot be described in words because they’re all inscribed in my mind by experience and by actions. So much care and love was shared between everyone that everyday felt less like a class but more like a familial gathering where everyone worked together to achieve the same goals.
