Introduction
The Narrative Perspectives Project challenged seniors to strengthen their storytelling skills by experimenting with narrative perspectives, dialogue, and other advanced writing techniques. Students applied these skills across a wide range of creative projects, including films, animations, graphic designs, websites, and mixed-media artwork. Throughout the project, they also developed technical communication skills by learning industry-standard software and tools used in design, filmmaking, animation, and web development.
Narrative Visual Perspective in English
The Worldbuilding Project in English challenged us to think creatively and collaboratively as we worked in groups to create an original fictional world complete with its own history, culture, characters, and conflicts. My group created Creatures of the Cult, a story about two college students who discover an isolated mountain civilization where people undergo animal-like surgeries in an attempt to escape the pressures of society. As the characters become trapped within the community, they must confront questions of identity, belonging, individuality, and freedom. After developing our world, we extended the project in Digital Media by creating a surreal composition in Adobe Photoshop inspired by the story and its themes, using visual storytelling techniques to represent the world we had built.
