Introduction

For the profile unit, we, as seniors in Freestyle chose a person of interest in our community to document. The person had to be interesting and available to interview and be observed. In WebAudio we made a media feature in After Effects showcasing the main qualities and reasons why our subject is important. We also created this website to see all the content we’ve created. In Design we created a magazine article based on our star, as well as a presentation that we then gave to the entire senior class at Freestyle. In English, we wrote a profile paper which allowed us to get deep into our character’s person by using a metaphor to describe their significance.

Glen Miller is a man of action. He is a pastor at Valley Church in Cupertino as well as the president of Hands of Hope; an organization that shelters and educates orphans in Zimbabwe. I chose Glen to profile because he is making an active difference in the world even at his older age. He was very busy but he still made time to meet and talk with me about his faith, his goals, and his life. He lives in Zimbabwe for half the year, and the other half he spends here in the Bay Area. Wherever he is, he is always serving other people and making friends. He is very extroverted and gets to know many people, this works well with his generous nature and charisma.

During the process of profiling Glen, I took many pictures of him. These are some of my favorites that show who he is, what he does, and what a day in his life looks like.
