About Me

Sydney Enthoven was a film student at Freestyle Academy starting in 2018, and a student at Los Altos High School. She graduated in 2020. She enjoys playing volleyball, and played for the club MVVC for 4 years, as well as on the school team for 4 years, 3 years on varsity.  She also loves theatre and was a stage manager at Broken Box Theatre Company for the three years, as well as the stage manager for the LAHS 2020 musical, High School Musical.

Sydney’s experience at Freestyle wasn’t always easy, but she would never change a thing. She’s loved learning editing in film, it’s one of her favorite parts of making a movie. She also loved the photography projects in digital media and is a big fan of digital art in photoshop, even if she isn’t a great artist.

Sydney valued the technology and opportunity she got at Freestyle.  The ability to learn about premier, photoshop, cameras, tripods, after effects, and all sorts of other programs isn’t offered at regular school, as well using the knowledge you gain to create your own media. She understands that not many other people get such fantastic opportunities with passionate teachers and project-based learning. Sydney also loved the way Freestyle operates, with a limited number of lessons and more projects, with learning by doing. This is similar to her theater experience, and something she always valued in her education.

Freestyle has influenced Sydney in every aspect of her life. It’s taught her valuable skills that can only be taught through experience, and given her life long friends. She’s so glad she stumbled across the program, and encourages anyone who thinks it could be something they want to do to give it a try. The lessons she’s learned at Freestyle will follow her for the rest of her life.

Thank you.
