For the digital media weekly photo challenge, one type of photo is an inspiration photo. We’re asked to take photos that inspire us and are unique to us.

    Future

This photo shows what I want for the future: Friends I love, being able to leave the house again course,I should be doing a lot better in the future than I am right now. I look to the future with those words in mind, hoping. they will be true.

    Food

Nothing is better than a delicious cookie, and I love to bake them! I don’t usually make sugar cookies, but they’re fun to make on occasion, if only for the shapes you can cut out.

    Musical

This is one of my favorite photos ever. It’s an action photo of my friend Emory dancing in her living room with a Britney Spears shirt on. When I think music, it really translates into dancing for me. This photo captures so much energy and fun, her eyes are closed and she’s feeling the music. I just think this is such a living photo that is made of music.

    Work

This is a photo of my partner Arabella working on our narrative film. This was so much work, it was hours and hours of concentrated time. We had tons of film clips to sync audio to and then edit together. This photo represents work in so many different forms, the work it takes to make a film, the work of production, the work of editing, etc..

    The Elements

I think fire is a beautiful element. It’s so alive and colorful and fun to watch. I love sitting with my dog at the fireplace in my house and drinking hot cocoa or watching a movie. Fire reminds me of home. Fire is also really dangerous, but I think that adds to the intrigue of it all. It’d beautiful and warm, but don’t get too close or you might get burned. Take your time roasting that marshmallow or you’ll have charcoal on your hands.

    Gratitude

This past week and weekend, I was lucky enough to be the stage manager on Broken Box Theater Company’s production of It’s a Wonderful Life. I am so grateful that I got to spend every day with all these amazing people, that I got to spend months watching this fantastic show come together, and that all the shows went well. I love my cast and crew so much, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people. I’m also grateful for the theater company. Most schools only offer after school theater, but our 6th period theater class allows for a lot of different types of people to audition…

    Who Inspires You

This wasn’t easy for me to figure out at first. Honestly, I don’t have someone who truly inspires me. No one who’s picture I look at to make me run harder, no one who I think, “that’s who I want to be someday.” I could have chosen my mom or dad, some of the best people in my life, but I decided instead to choose a teacher I have. I realized that he is who I want to be when I grow up, someone inspiring, dedicated, and good at his job. I chose a photo that represents Myles Rowland, the theater manager at Los Altos High School. Now, why him?…

    Habits

For habits, we were challenged to take a photo representing a habit we had, good or bad. My mind immediately jumped to a habit I’ve had for many years, picking at my skin. It’s a bad habit, and kind of gross, but it’s something I do all the time. I pick at the skin around my fingertips with pencils, pins, and tweezers, and I bite my nails as well. I fear going for a manicure now, but there is no more prevalent habit that I could have chosen.
