Introduction

I like to express myself through animation. My favorite thing since I was a kid is animation, because in the world of animation I can unleash my endless imagination and all my dreams can come true in animation. And animation is very artistic. I can match my story with exquisite painting style, beautiful music and so on. Another reason why I like animation is that the presentation is straightforward, which is better than the obscure text in reading books. I value being a Freestyle English and Digital Media student because I am interested in them and I know they are both important skills. So I have to try my best to learn them.

Haiku Video

My Haiku Video is about the conflict of the freedom and responsibility. Based on my own experience, people always envy others who can do whatever they want, but there are often too many important responsibilities in life that we must bear. If you don’t take responsibility, the consequences will be very serious. It’s like a disaster has occurred.

I attach great importance to my haiku, and I try my best to express what is in my head through haiku, and it must also fit the title. I hope to highlight the importance of “responsibility” through haiku.

“Why Art?” Essay

My “Why Art?” Essay’s title is “Art, Above All Political Means”. I read “Naming the Disappeared, Raising the Dead,” by Doris Salcedo and that makes me think about the meaning of art. Why art matters? Then I find the answer from several artworks composed by Pablo Picasso. Art can let people remember those who died whose traces were erased by politicians. And et their spiritual value be reflected.

“Why Art” Presentation

Below is my Why Art Presentation. I wanted to use it to express the content of the prose more directly.

All in all, I think the meaning of art is to remember the people whose deaths were erased by politicians. Let their spiritual value be reflected.At the same time, I realized that my English was really bad and I needed to improve it as soon as possible.

Photoshop Blend Mode Editing

Photoshop Blend Mode is a very useful tool. You can use it to make your picture lighter or darker. You can highlight the object in the picture. Also, you can use the multiply mode to multiply one into the other to make the picture looks amazing.

These pictures were all made by me with photoshop blend mode. I also put the original picture to compare.

Animation

When I first started animating, I just wanted to make my character cool and handsome, and I didn’t care much about the rationality and continuity of the movements. As a result, it took me a long time to make up for my mistakes after the animation was completed. I think about those details now and I think that’s how I’ve grown.

Zoetrope Animation

The animation for my zoetrope is Doraemon, and I want to express the process of him rummaging through his pockets for items until he finds Dorayaki and swallows it in one gulp. I drew each frame on a strip of paper, then put it in the zoetrope and moved it with my hands. Doraemon seemed to come alive.

“The match of the matches”

This is my favourite animation project currently. I can say it is an active animation proudly. It took me a lot of time to draw each frame because of the complicated movement.

Phenakistoscope Animation

In the Phenakistoscope Wheel animation, I drew a shark. It evolved hands and feet in the ocean, came to live on land, and later evolved fins on land, and returned to the ocean. This seems to be an endless process reincarnation.

Stop Motion Animation

This was the most difficult animation to make because every pose of the character could not be fixed. I had to hold its base with my hands and shoot at the same time. It was really difficult.
