How can I use unconventional forms to express myself?

Through the use of different mediums like pen on paper or photoshopping, I can express myself. These skills help me communicate my feelings to others and can help people understand what I’m thinking. Through spreading ideas new ,ideas emerge, which innovates and cultivates growth for the future. Being a freestyle student is more important than just learning new things in a different setting. It’s about preparing kids to make an impact on the world

                                  Only aliens can understand art

Why does art matter? Art is merely shapes and lines on a piece of paper. What makes people so interested is that they would pay thousands of dollars for it. Artists like Brian Green say it is the only way to bring out the inner truth that Math and science can not. Doris Salcedo, another artist, says that art gives people humanity by breaking their silence. Sonny Rollins believes that art transcends all human things and technology. Sonny Rollings thinks art is more significant than physical things and can describe something humans cannot say.

Throughout Sonny Rollins’ Article, he discusses how art transcends and describes the immaterial soul. One artist who captured the same idea is Max Ernst, a surreal artist who made incredibly colorful and creative pieces. He wanted to create art for the “mentally ill as a means to access primal emotion and unfettered creativity” here.

One of his pieces was made in 1937 with oil on canvas and called The Triumph of Surrealism. This painting shows a creature that looks very anxious and overwhelmed. They also have a beast hanging on to them, making it seem like he is being attacked, which can be the thing that is causing the character to feel anxious or overwhelmed. Ernst’s use ofHe used much texture to makes theshow things like clothes andor hair. This makes the art look like recognizableit could be honest and express real human emotion. The whole piece has repetition in the main character. We see a lot of this cloth, which makes this character feel human. A significant element of art in this piece is color, showing colorful things that make this piece seem joyful. However, it could also show pain and sadness. You can see the creature on the side, almost trying to pull parts of the bigger guy out like he is a parasite. The Green color on this guy further develops this point as it shows venomous energy. The lack of contrast between the parasite and the central figure shows it is a part of the main character. We also see a vast field that surrounds this character. This could mean this thing feels alone in his battle against this parasite. In this battle, we know much movement that shows he is in pain, especially when he flairs his arms and stomps—making this creature look like a monster, especially with the big sharp teeth. Creating this character look dream-like. As Sonny Rollins said, art transcends Earth, and this piece seems alien.

Sonny Rollings talks about how art transcends our world, and Max Ernst makes these pieces look like they are from another planet. This painting represents the feeling of anxiety and how people try to talk, but no one listens. These artworks do not feel like a human can make them. Here is another of Max Ernst’s pieces; we see a big cylinder with a cone on the bottom in this piece. This form has a weird portion with a massive cylinder on a tiny point. This character does not look like it should be standing up; maybe Max painted it this way to show how on edge this character was. This character is also red, which can mean many things, but he is also yellow, making me think they are happy, and the red makes me think they are passionate. They also have this green cloth that looks like it is growing around this character and taking it over. Green is usually a bad thing. It can represent poison or malice. This character also has movement in their hands; this movement looks like they are about to shout something or say something. Nevertheless, this character does not have a mouth. So, this character is minimal, so the surface is naturally silenced and unable to speak up. This is something that is very hard to capture in an image, but art is a different thing entirely. It can capture stuff words cannot describe.

In this piece, you would need a billion words to capture everything that is going on, which makes the painting feel overwhelming, and this painting represents how people feel overwhelmed. This painting’s depth is infinite, creating this confusion in your brain because you just cant wrap your mind around everything that is there. I dont think words could do the same if it was in words it would be another language that I would have no clue how to read. The proportions in this peirce also make no sense stuff that looks far away is huge and stuff that is close is tiny. It’s confusing and you would have too see the world in an interesting way to even paint this. Making it seem like Max Ernst wasnt a regular person, but he was trying to capture mental illness during WWII. During this time, mental illness was very under-researched, So trying to capture it would be hard would make it like taking a picture in the dark with a flash; it was a very unknown thing. The color also shows a very warm happy place with mostly lighter color all around this painting .

You can see how Sonny Rolling perfectly pictured art as it being unhuman and alien, and Max Ernst says the same thing with his surrealist paintings . In his first one, we see how he captures emotions with movement and expression. In the second, we see how he captures mental states with a very on-edge alien-like creature. In the third, we see so many things that are hard to capture. These paintings are very alien, and dont look human as Sonny Rollins says art transcends human technology.
