Movie Poster:
The movie poster from Design class was made based on the animation created during Animation Class. But since I did not make my animation based on the English Short Story, the poster also wasn’t related to the short story also.
Artist Statement:
This narrative project “The Soup” is based on the short story that I wrote in sophomore year titled “Meng Po”. The story tells about Liyan, a young girl who learns the lesson of acceptance as she struggles between drinking the soup move on to reincarnation or stay as a ghost but keep her memories after she died in a car accident.
Movie poster was the format that I choose for this project since I’m also doing an animation in Animation class on the same story, so I thought the two would go together really well. All the illustration and text on this poster were done in adobe photoshop. Though I do like the way it looks right now, there is definitely more work that can be done to add more depth and value to the poster.
Animation Video:
We made a short animation in Animation class based on the short story written in English. But for my case I wanted to draw something different, so instead of drawing out the short story, I choose to animate another story that I wrote two years ago.
